Ok - it has been so long since I've posted that picasa's blog interface has changed and my initial commentary was lost. So, here it goes again - below are pics of Alden Carpenter's visit with his family back in the middle of March. He and Toby had a blast running around the backyard.
Aaron, Tara and I spent the time together indoctrinating Susan on Mesa Mormons Culture and History (we are founding members due to our extensive connections and experiences as Mountain View High School - or BYU South as it is sometimes referred to). The Carpenters also have a blog which is way cooler than ours 'cause it uses videos and slideshows and stuff - www.carpenterclanaz.blogspot.com

It seems like Susan is ALWAYS having to go buy more groceries - that might have something to do with the amazing metabolism of the boy behind her in this pic following the brigade to bring groceries into the house.





Toby is into posing and smiling for the camera these days - here he is shortly after his haircut.









David has ridden his bike to our house a few times on his way to work - he even has bike shoes that lock into the pedals and a backpack with a hose with water and fluids. Oh, and disc brakes, suspension, and the whole bike weighs about as much as TJ (not very much)! TJ is about to sneeze in this pic:

Finding something to do

This is me after the first attempt to fly the kite - didn't happen due to tangled string and I had to go find a needle in the kit provided in the rooms since my fingernails were finely ground down following a manicure :(

The beach party before anyone came to party - my theory for the beach party is that once a week they make the guests eat on the sand in the dark so that the resort can get rid of all of the leftover food :) It was ok, and we all went to the Italian restaurant afterwards for some fresh food 

Fun on the balcony

We've been hanging out on our new balcony alot lately - the views are great, the weather is perfect, and the access is easy - right out our bedroom. The kids love watching everyone that goes by out for a walk, we can watch and talk to whoever is at the park playing, and Toby likes yelling to everyone (especially the neighbor's dogs). I know we won't be up on top as much in the summer cause 1. it will be too hot, 2. the sun will be further north and the house won't shade us on the balcony - but I am hoping that having the covered patio will make it easier to be in the backyard in the summer. As you can see below, Toby has a doll that he takes care of - he is talking lots more and is also refusing his naps. At the bottom of this post you can see the awesome view straight from our bedroom!

 

Saturday Morning Bike RIde while Mommy went to Leadership Conference

TJ is an excellent driver now - he gives his siblings a ride.


The entire exterior of the house was freshly painted last week - can you tell?





Toby was sure excited about the new park we rode the bike to . . . even though he was just in a diaper (at least daddy changed his diaper before going on the bike ride)

Heather dove right in whenever the candy scattered and competed with all of those boys for candy - she gave me this tootsie roll!
