Church one day, Drive-in movie the next

Toby loves posing for pics, especially with his cute baby sister. The kids begged all weekend and were so excited to have their friends Walker and Whitney join them for a drive-in movie. They didn't care which one (except Heather did NOT want Star Trek) and were so excited to realize that Night at the Museum 2 was playing. Toby didn't quite get the concept and is now still asking when "can we go to another 'useum (museum)?" They were very goofy, but I guess that's ok since we were outside and all alone in the front row for the movie!

Last Saturday

The kiddos on a Saturday afternoon - TJ is trying to hide his smile since he is so happy to be surrounded by cute girls (thanks to Britt and Bail for coming over to swim), Susan is FAKING a smile 'cause she HATES when I take her picture, Toby is all cheesy smiles when posing with his toys, and Heather can't smile when she is deep into a computer game.

Scriptural Integration

Here we have TJ's "Lego Scripture Heroes" - he'll have to help me identify who is who in these customized lego characters from scripture stories. He left them out in the living room before leaving for school one morning.
Julianna is all about the 'churchy' songs on the music maker and Toby is a great helper. They both love music. Toby greeted me when I got home from work the other day with "Daddy, I love you, even though you don't share your legos with me."

Father/Son Campout

We survived our annual trip to the cooler pines so we can bond as father and sons/brothers.
We used the old standbys to help us bond: green lasers, remote controlled fart machines, movies in the tent, lasertag guns, a car sickness episode, melted marshmallows on clothes, peeing on trees, and not washing our hands.
Toby didn't get nearly as dirty this year and mostly wanted to hang out in the tent, although he did like wandering off with the big flashlight whenever he could.
TJ was more mature this year as he was able to strategically place the fart machine without giggling out loud and giving away the joke - I guess that is maturity?!?
I again failed to remember all of the essentials for a good night sleep - in past years I've forgotten the air mattress or the pump (or even the inverter to power the pump) and this year I forgot pillows. At least we had jackets that could substitute.
