"Boring" Spring Break

Poor kids - they had to spend their spring break playing with each other and only got to go to the library twice and to the park. Aren't the girls cute in their purple spring church dresses?

TJ's Cheering Section

Toby was actually cheering for Jeff Gordon, Heather was reading her book, and Julianna was just taking in all of the action (and attention).

Pinewood Derby

TJ's Pinewood Derby was well set-up and fun. He did a great job designing, cutting, painting, and decorating his own car (I made the car last year). He definitely did better than I did last year (the third pic shows his "Scorpion" winning the race in the right lane).

Some new views

We've had some nice sunsets (and sunrises) lately - they remind me of Hualqui, Chile, where I served my mission (and I've reconnected with some awesome people from there on facebook recently). We also got the cement/pavers done on the side of the house so that it isn't just a big mud hole - even though the kids LIKED the mud hole . . .

Toby Time

Toby likes stealing his brother's toys, playing at Grandpa's house (with Emilia), and lately, he is all about the video games (especially anything Star Wars).

Bookworm

Heather found the perfect natural light for reading but still had to deal with her annoying dad taking her picture and her brother jumping around. Poor thing has been sick with a 'kissing virus' that has inflamed her gums and lips (whether she picked it up from kissing or just touching something we don't know, but I'm going to be more vigilant next Valentine's Day . . .) She's an excellent reader and a great helper with her little sister!

Brothers

Susan says TJ and Toby don't get along - I like to think they're just fighting for my attention because they like being around me so much :)

Toby has figured out how to get the electric slot cars on the track and has some pretty fun races (he also had to figure out variable speeds and not just going full throttle). TJ built his pinewood derby car all by himself! This was much better than last year when I stayed home from work one day to get it done in time. His race is next Saturday - I have a feeling he'll do alot better this year than he did last year with too much dad help.
