Christmas - Traditions

Taking Betsy to the Desert

We boys graciously took Susan's new .22, Betsy, to the desert to break her in today. Lots of other people were doing the same thing with much more powerful and louder guns (and quads/toys) - it was a busy place near Four Peaks.
We had fun being rednecks with the giant camp chair, machetes from Walmart, Toby's new (replacement) folding camp shovel, airsoft guns, and an awesome scoped pellet gun that Grandpa J got for me a few Christmases ago but we hadn't really used yet.

Lake Powell with the Bakers

TJ discovered the freedom that comes with motorized vehicles - only with no roads, few rules, lots of sights/exploring, and some speed. He never fell off the jetski (he had to use the 40 mph 'trainer' key) and only rolled a quad onto himself once (no injuries, guess he was skinny enough to fit under it) . . .

Julianna had fun playing in the sand and 'driving' the jetski (she even figured out how to PREVENT me from using the throttle by holding it down) . . . but she kept Susan busy and unable to sleep comfortably . . .

Toby was a wildman with lots of activities, lots of digging, lots of soda and some very deep sleeping.

Heather made lots of girl cousin friends, read lots of books, rode lots of tubes, and read some more . . .

We're grateful the Bakers shared their houseboat week with us!
