Family History - putting it all in perspective

It's kinda cool to "google" ancestor names and find stuff like this - about a great great grandpa moving to Mesa and travelling via San Fran right after the big earthquake in 1906 (I know you've told us that story before) and a great great great grandpa that died here in Mesa on Nate's bday back in 1917! If you need some names to google, go to familysearch.org! The other fun thing to do is to use google earth or google maps to see the different places listed for birth/marriage/death for our ancestors. Just investigating these simple facts puts our lives into perspective about what is really important!

Thanksgiving Day 'Lamb Jam'

We promised the kiddos if they would sit at the dinner table until we were ALL done with Thanksgiving dinner (so that it would last longer than 5 minutes) that we would come and watch their concert. You can watch this if you ate all of your Thanksgiving dinner.

Santa's Little Helper

Toby accompanied me to Lowe's, the bike store, Office Max, and Walgreen's today - he's really well behaved at stores (he hasn't learned his sibling's begging skills - yet)!

Brothers and Sister

Pics, sleepovers, bdays, fires - Just more weekend stuff

This was basically the only picture we got out of about 100 where all 3 kids are smiling and looking at the camera - Susan picked it for her soon to be written Family Christmas Letter.

Last weekend the kids wanted to sleep on the trampoline since there was no school on Monday. We told them sure, you can sleep on the trampoline . . . by 6:15 (just after the sun went down) they were all back inside complaining it was cold outside (probably down to the 70s) so they slept in their beds (except for Toby if you have been reading Susan's blog at all)!


On Toby's 3rd birthday Grandma and Grandpa came by with a birthday balloon for him since he is so crazy about throwing the weights around. This one had a clip on it and Grandpa clipped it to Toby's newly shortened hairstyle - Toby thought that was pretty funny.


My Saturday afternoon nap was interrupted by loud sirens and the kids going crazy - evidently the neighbors on the other side of the park behind us had a plugged in battery charger in the garage catch fire - so we got to see the firemen chainsaw through the garage doors and fight the fire. It was quite the neighborhood event and we're glad that everyone is safe and that we can learn the lesson to be careful with our battery chargers!

Homemade Rolls

She did it! Susan made my mom's rolls - now maybe I'll finally be able to gain some weight (yeah right!) - Small reward for takin the kids swimmin in Nov - Heather is in the pool now since water is 75 degrees and air outside is about 70!

Night Swim . . .

because it is still too stinkin hot outside! Although it is starting to get nicer (perfect weather), the kids (and mommy) needed some OUTSIDE time! Hope the neighbors don't mind how LOUD they are!

Toby has a blast in grandpa's backyard - it's a fun place to explore! He also told grandpa to 'tickle the water' and pointed at the swimming pool and laughed.
